As she watches the sunrise from the end of the driveway each morning, Karen reminds herself of this saying that she's adopted as her own:

Picture notes: Taken by a fellow survivor (one of the inspirations for the “amazons” in the adventures) at the FACTors Conference sponsored by the Moffitt Cancer Center that Karen attended after treatment in 2007. They give out different colored beads to represent how long each attendee has been a survivor. White is for year one.
